hot tub user guide
Cooler seasons
The tub will be clean for you to simply fill with hot (or cold) water upon arrival (takes about 40 minutes to fill).
In winter, we recommend putting a small log in straight away to keep the tub warm for the first night. The next day, the tub can take up to 4 hours to re-heat, so please allow plenty of time so it’s ready when you want it.
Since water (and gas to heat the water to fill the tub), is like liquid gold in Mudgee, it is a ‘one-fill per-stay’.
Please DO NOT empty the tub as we water our gardens with the water.
Warmer seasons
In summer, the tub is great as a mini plunge pool, maybe buy some ice and throw it in if it’s an extra hot day, however, the nights can still get a bit chilly in summer, so then it’s easy to heat with wood as per the video instructions to become a hot tub at night.
A special idea is to put a log in just before bed, then wake up for sunrise and jump into a warm tub to watch the sunrise and the kangaroo’s graze … it’s an early start but will create memories for life.
Please note that a small amount of ash makes lighting a fire easier, however, if you do need to empty the hot tub fire box, please discard of the ash in the metal bin behind your accommodation so we can dispose of it properly.
To start the fire, please use kindling and small pieces of wood.
If you put in large pieces of wood, this will fill the flu, preventing you from being able to open the wood box.
Once the wood is burning, you will not be able to stop the fire and the hot tub will keep getting hotter, so we suggest adding small amounts of wood as needed.
